Dear Fashionable Foodie Friends,

I miss you all!  It's been awhile since my last post.  I've been working on some new ideas for the blog, as well as enjoying several different restaurants so that I can come back here and share reviews with you.

In the meantime, I've shopped, attended a few festivals, cooked some amazing meals, and as usual I've purchased lots of makeup.  Today I will share a couple of smoothie recipes, and my favorite sauteed kale recipe.

Monday's Green Smoothie:

  • avocado
  • kale
  • cucumber
  • sprouts
  • blackberries
  • blueberries
  • honey
  • beet juice
  • water
Most of the time, I like to limit the amount of ingredients in my smoothie to 2 fruit, and 1 green leafy vegetable, but I needed the sprouts for energy, and from there, it seems I just added the rest of the fridge!
Tuesday's smoothie was exactly the same. Wednesday's smoothie is as follows:

  • avocado
  • kale
  • cucumber
  • peaches
  • blackberries
  • carrot juice
  • water
Last night, I cooked Sauteed Kale, which just so happens to be one of my favorite dishes.  As you can probably tell from my Green Smoothie recipes, I always have Kale on hand.  There is something about the green leafy vegetable that I just can't get enough of! Please follow this recipe and make this dish for you and your family.  I promise you will love it!

Sauteed Kale

 chopped kale
2 or more  cloves garlic
olive oil
1/2 onion
2 squeezes of fresh lemon juice

Wash, dry and chop kale.  Heat olive oil in skillet , and then add garlic.  Saute garlic over medium heat, and be careful not to burn.  Add onions, I prefer to cut my onions into rings for this particular recipe, as opposed to chopping them.  Cook onions over medium heat, for about 2 mins.  Do not allow onions to wilt.  Next, add Kale.  You will only need to cook kale for about 5-7 mins.  Kale will be a nice green color, and perfectly wilted.  Lastly, squeeze half a lemon over the kale, and a DASH of sea salt.  Toss, and Enjoy!

Here are a few pictures of my life for over the past two weeks.
